One of the Church of Christ's key models is that of Body Ministry. This, put simply, means that we can all be involved. The Bible states that the church is made up of lots of very different people and that we all have a role to play, within that body.
At Selston we are very blessed that a large percentage of people regularly get involved in leading services, volunteering, encouraging and serving in many many ways.
Here you will find details of just a few of these people - we hope that this may help you to put an initial name to a face and tell you a little about the people you may meet at the church.
Chris is our Minister, who along with the support of the Elders and Officers brings direction and seeks to lead the church forward. Chris' heart is very much for the local community. Being born and raised within two miles of the church building, Chris loves Selston, and wants to see God move in this community. Chris and Debbie have been married for 17 years and have been serving in the church here for 8 of those years.
Mary is not only an Elder in the church, but with that brings a heart filled with love for her God and for his church. Mary has spent her life worshipping in this church building, her spiritual home. As well as being a dedicated Elder Mary also jointly leads the Thursday Ladies Group.
Andy along with wife Nicole, leads and serves God in the church in many ways. Not only do they both lead worship and are involved in the All Age planning team. Andy is also responsible for our worship music and Audio Visual equipment. This means that during a Sunday service and for countless hours before, Andy is very busily working away to ensure heartfelt and beautiful worship to God.
Wendy is our newest Elder, recently appointed, in 2017. She has been a member of the Church of Christ her whole life, first in Riddings then later in Selston. Wendy and her Husband Michael are dedicated members of the church and also look after many of the financial aspects of church life. Michael as the Treasurer and Wendy taking care of Gift Aid. These practical and vital roles, are matched by their love for God and the church.
